The Marshall Police Department reports the following incidents:  On Monday at 8:38 in the morning, theft was reported near the 400 block of Tiger Drive. The matter is under investigation.  On Monday at 11:03 in the morning, a 20-year-old Marshall male was arrested for a radiator theft after a report of a suspicious person near the intersection of North 7th Street and Heritage Circle.  On Monday at 5:02 in the afternoon, bicycle theft was reported near the 400 block of South Saratoga Street. Wildfire Danger Triggers Multiple Grass Fires Across Minnesota

MINNESOTA — A day of hot temperatures and high fire danger warnings led to multiple grass fires across the state on Sunday. In Douglas County, a car fire broke out after the vehicle got stuck near Highway 27 and ignited nearby grass while trying to get back on the road. The car was destroyed, but the driver escaped with minor injuries. In St. Louis County, firefighters responded to a blaze at Lakeland Mobile Home Park in Biwabik Township. Two people suffered minor injuries after a grass fire spread under a trailer, which sustained only slight damage. 

Les Schwab Tire Center Opens New Marshall Location

MARSHALL — A new Les Schwab Tire Center has opened on the south side of Marshall, near U.S. Highway 59. The facility began operating with a soft launch on April 16 and held a ribbon-cutting event on Friday, attended by members of the Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce.  The Marshall location includes seven service bays and employs a team of nine, along with an assistant manager and manager. Highway 19/College Drive Reconstruction Begins in Marshall

MARSHALL — A major road construction project on Highway 19/College Drive begins today, Monday, May 5, 2025. The reconstruction will close Highway 19 from Fairgrounds Road to the Highway 68/Highway 59 intersection. Traffic is detouring to County Road 7 and Highway 23.  The Minnesota Department of Transportation plans to complete the project in four stages to minimize disruptions. Stage 1 begins with 4th Street remaining open. Later stages will involve closures on Saratoga Street, Country Club Drive, and eventually 4th Street, with adjustments to accommodate seasonal activities.  Construction is expected to pause on October 26, 2025, and resume in spring 2026. Fatal Crash Under Investigation in Redwood County

REDWOOD FALLS, MN — A fatal crash late Sunday night is under investigation after a vehicle collided with a parked tractor and caught fire in Redwood Falls Township.  According to the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office, emergency crews were called around 11:34 p.m. on April 27 to a report of a vehicle fire near Minnesota State Highway 19 and County Road 17. Responders discovered a 2014 Subaru Outback had left the road and struck an unoccupied John Deere tractor on private property. The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, has issued Tornado Watch 180, effective until 8:00 PM CDT today, Monday, April 28, 2025. The watch covers a large portion of southern and central Minnesota, including the counties of Brown, Chippewa, Cottonwood, Jackson, Kandiyohi, Lac qui Parle, Lincoln, Lyon, Martin, McLeod, Meeker, Murray, Nicollet, Nobles, Pipestone, Pope, Redwood, Renville, Rock, Sibley, Stearns, Stevens, Swift, Watonwan, and Yellow Medicine.
