MARSHALL — A major road construction project on Highway 19/College Drive begins today, Monday, May 5, 2025. The reconstruction will close Highway 19 from Fairgrounds Road to the Highway 68/Highway 59 intersection. Traffic is detouring to County Road 7 and Highway 23.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation plans to complete the project in four stages to minimize disruptions. Stage 1 begins with 4th Street remaining open. Later stages will involve closures on Saratoga Street, Country Club Drive, and eventually 4th Street, with adjustments to accommodate seasonal activities.
Construction is expected to pause on October 26, 2025, and resume in spring 2026. Completion is scheduled for October 30, 2026.
