How FUN would you say your state is?  Are you a top 10 state . . . bottom 10 . . . or middle of the pack?  An annual study ranked all 50 states by how FUN they are . . . based on the amount of stuff there is to do.   And believe it or not, the #1 most fun state is:  Florida.  (It's all fun and games until you're caught . . . and your "Florida Man" mugshot goes viral.)  (???)   The rest of the 10 "most fun" states are:  California . . . Voting closes tomorrow for this year's Hambone Award, recognizing the strangest pet insurance claim of the year.  It's the 16th year Nationwide Insurance has done it.   They named it the "Hambone" after a dog that got itself locked in a fridge for several hours, and ate a full holiday ham.  It was treated for mild hypothermia.   Last year's winner was a cat named Giles, who needed stitches after being folded into a sofa-bed.  But this year's list of finalists is very dog-heavy . . . one parrot, but no cats.  Here are the eight nominees for 2024 . . .   [...]

Anybody out there good with rhymes?  Because I know there's a joke here . . .   There once was a man from Nantucket . . . who just had to cancel all his credit cards.  (???)   Noah Karberg is the manager of Nantucket Memorial Airport in Massachusetts.  He lost his wallet on Sunday when he got robbed in broad daylight by a SEAGULL.   He was loading bags into his car at the grocery store, and set his wallet down on his shopping cart.  The gull swooped in, snagged the wallet, and took off.   He says his first thought [...]

Would You Let a Robot Dentist Work on Your Teeth?

I fully agree here.  There's nothing unsettling about a robot using sharp tools to drill into my face . . .   Robot dentists are about to become a thing after an A.I. company called Perceptive pulled off the first fully automated dental procedure.  A robotic arm controlled by A.I. shaved down a guy's tooth for a crown.   It works by 3D mapping the inside of your mouth.  Then it clamps onto your jaw, and a drill moves in circles to grind your tooth down.  (Here's a video.)   They claim it offers enhanced "precision and efficiency" compared to human dentists, and [...]

An animal rescue place in Tennessee posted photos of a kitten born with four ears.  He's totally healthy.  He just happens to have two normal ears with another set of smaller ones inside them.   They say he's "simply ear-resistible" and will go up for adoption soon.  They named him "Audio" because he has "built-in surround-sound speakers."  (Here are photos.)
