Crop Dusting Pilot Dies from Crash Injuries

CHIPPEWA COUNTY -- A crop dusting plane pilot crashed in an accident last week on July 25th. 34-year-old Derek DuHoux was injured when his plane hit power lines and crashed into a field near Clara City by 90th Avenue NE and 10th Street NE in Crate Township at around 9:30 AM. He was then airlifted with life-threatening injuries to a Twin Cities Hospital and, as his Caring Bridge page released, is where he died Wednesday, August 3rd. DuHoux was a MACCRAY High School graduate and an army aviation veteran.

Plane Crashes into Cornfield North of Tyler; Nobody Hurt

TYLER – Nobody was injured when a plane crashed Friday morning, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. At approximately 11:07 Friday morning, a single seat spray plane was attempting to take flight when it crashed into a cornfield, just north of the Tyler Municipal Airport runway. The pilot, who has not been identified, was not injured. The plane was damaged in the crash. The public is asked to stay away from the area for safety reasons and so the crash scene can be properly investigated.
