CHIPPEWA COUNTY — A crop dusting plane pilot crashed in an accident last week on July 25th. 34-year-old Derek DuHoux was injured when his plane hit power lines and crashed into a field near Clara City by 90th Avenue NE and 10th Street NE in Crate Township at around 9:30 AM. He was then airlifted with life-threatening injuries to a Twin Cities Hospital and, as his Caring Bridge page released, is where he died Wednesday, August 3rd. DuHoux was a MACCRAY High School graduate and an army aviation veteran.
