WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (KMHL) – HyVee has announced that it has suspended the sale of Zantac Brand and Topcare Brand Ranitidine products over concerns the products may contain a probable human carcinogen.
The employee-owned corporation made the decision after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued an industry-wide product alert and official recall of the Topcare 75mg ranitidine products.
Ranitidine is an H2 Blocker that is taken for heartburn relief.
HyVee says any customers who purchased the over-the-counter products can return them to the store for a full refund.
