MARSHALL – After a successful inaugural Prairie Jam in 2022, Visit Marshall announced the 2nd Annual Prairie Jam will be held on Thursday, September 21st. The concert will take place at the Schwan’s Regional Event Center on the SMSU campus. Headlining the event is the multi-platinum Eli Young Band, featuring Mike Eli, James Young, Jon Jones, and Chris Thompson.
This will be the Eli Young Band’s first trip to Marshall. Mike Eli shared his thoughts on his band coming to Marshall in September.
“We are thrilled to headline Prairie Jam, and to celebrate Marshall and It’s only fitting that the band, formed by friends on a college campus at the University of North Texas takes the stage at SMSU. Our new music is full of energy and full of life and what better place to be than on a college campus honoring our roots.”
The Eli Young Band has four number-one hits including “Crazy Girl”, “Even If It Breaks Your Heart”, “Love Ain’t”, and “Drunk Last Night”. The band just released their album, Love Talking, last year.
The opening act will be Royale Lynn, a newcomer in the country music world, who has garnered millions of views on social media.
Doors will open at 5:45, Royale Lynn at 6:45, and the Eli Young Band taking the stage at 7:45. Ticket prices start at $25 and will be available on Thursday, April 20th. Visit Marshall director Cassi Weiss says, “Visit Marshall is excited to bring this event back for a second year. Last year we saw great economic impact to the community, and we strive to increase the economic impact in year two.”
