SLEEPY EYE (KMHL) – The Minnesota State Patrol says two people were killed and five others injured in a broadside accident that occurred near Sleepy Eye Sunday evening.
The patrol says Terry Besemer, 51, of New Ulm was the driver of a 2005 Ford 500 that authorities say failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Brown County road 10 and U.S. Highway 14 and was involved in a crash with a 2003 Ford Windstar.
The State Patrol says Besemer had been drinking.
Authorities say Marciella De Leon,54, of Hildago, Texas, a passenger in the van, was also killed in the crash.
Five others, all in the Windstar, were injured in the crash. Three of those injured were airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center.
