GRANITE FALLS (KMHL) – Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Highways 212 and 23 east of Granite Falls. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 54-year-old Holly Mae Renville, of Browns Valley, was driving a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan that was involved in a crash with a 2018 Ford Explorer driven by Kyler James Jelen, 26, of Granite Falls. Both drivers and a passenger in the Caravan were taken to the Granite Falls Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

MARSHALL (KMHL) – A Marshall native is Minnesota's youngest auctioneer. Braxton Seifert, 17, of Marshall recently graduated from the World Wide College of Auctioneering and is currently Minnesota's youngest auctioneer. Seifert will officially be licensed in Minnesota through Lyon County on his 18th birthday in December, until then, he's allowed to assist with auctions as a ringman and can also provide assistance with charitable groups as a volunteer auctioneer when requested.

UNDATED (LEARFIELD) - Hiring in Minnesota was basically flat in June, while the state still hit a new record low of 1.8-percent unemployment. That is the lowest unemployment rate in the state since records started being kept in 1976 and is the second lowest in the nation. MANKATO (KMHL) – An 8-year-old girl has presumably drowned in the Minnesota River, while swimming at Sibley Park in Mankato. The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened just after 6 p.m. last night. Sheriff’s officials say a family with four children were swimming in the river near a sandbar when two of the children, including the girl began struggling in deep water. A bystander was able to help one of the children out, but wasn’t able to rescue the girls, according to a press release. The name of the child is being withheld pending family notification.

MARSHALL (KMHL) – With three seats open for the Marshall School Board starting in January 2023, the Marshall School District is holding a school board candidate informational session. The seats will be open during the November election, and district officials have scheduled the informational session for July 27th from 4:30 until 6:30 in the district office’s professional development room. Interested people would learn more about the school board’s role and expectations of board members, potential candidates would also have time to ask questions.

WINDOM (KMHL) – Police in Windom are warning the public about an attempted abduction that occurred in that community on Friday afternoon. Windom Police say the incident was reported shortly before 2:30 that afternoon. Authorities say an 11-year-old boy was riding his bike when a blue, four-door Ford sedan pulled up next to him, a man got out and told the boy to get into the vehicle. The boy was able to run home. Authorities say the man is described as 6-feet tall, with darker skin, tattoos on both arms, short hair and no facial hair.
