MARSHALL (KMHL) – Two physicians and a group of parents appeared at the Marshall School Board meeting last night asking the district to require masks for students as the school year begins. Dr. Vincent LaPorte spoke before the board, proposing to require masks for the first 8-to-12 weeks of the school year and then to go back and re-visit the issue later in the fall or early winter.  School officials in Marshall are recommending students wear masks, especially for unvaccinated students, but district guidelines stopped short of requiring students to wear them. Officials planned to leave the issue up to parents to decide. The school board did not take action on the group’s request at last night’s meeting.
