COTTONWOOD (KMHL) – A Bird Island man was airlifted after the semi-truck he was driving collided with a tractor west of Cottonwood yesterday along U.S. Highway 59 yesterday.
The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office says Steve Christenson of Bird Island was driving a semi that rear ended a tractor pulling a sprayer that was making a left-handed turn off the highway.
Authorities say Christensen had to be extricated from the semi and was flown from the scene to North Memorial with unknown injuries.
A passenger in the semi, was taken to Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center.
The driver of the tractor was not injured according to authorities.
