STANLEY TWP—Two people were injured on Sunday in a two-vehicle collision in Lyon County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 10:31 Sunday morning, a 2012 Kia Forte was traveling southbound on County State Aid Highway 9 and a 2018 GMC Sierra was traveling northbound on County State Aid Highway 9. Near the intersection with 330th street, the vehicles collided.
The driver of the Kia, 18-year-old Landon Gabriel Teske of Cottonwood, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Avera Marshall Hospital.
The driver of the GMC, 23-year-old Jarret Michael Beebout of Marshall, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Avera Marshall Hospital.
Assistance was provided by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Cottonwood Ambulance, and Cottonwood Fire Department.
RUSSELL—Three people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on Sunday in Lyon County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 12:09 Sunday afternoon, a 2005 Chevy Impala was traveling southbound on 170th Street in Coon Creek Township and a 2006 Honda Accord was traveling northbound on Highway 23 when the vehicles collided.
The driver of the Chevy, 73-year-old Margie F Dwire of Mountain Lake, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Avera Marshall Hospital.
The driver of the Honda, 39-year-old Craig Allen Jacobson of Hanley Falls, and his passenger, 59-year-old Dennis Chester Marshall of Hanley Falls, both sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at the scene.
Assistance was provided by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Russell Fire & Ambulance, and North Memorial Ambulance.
OLIVIA—Four people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on Saturday in Renville County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 2:22 Saturday afternoon, a 2012 Chevy Malibu was traveling eastbound on 830th Street and a 2013 Ford F150 was traveling southbound on Highway 71 when the vehicles collided in the intersection.
The driver of the Chevy, 25-year-old Manuela Maria Lopez of Willmar, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene. The State Patrol says Lopez had alcohol in her system at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Ford, 22-year-old Kmila Garzacastillo of Sullivan City, TX, and her two passengers, 51-year-old Nilda Azucena Garza of Hidalgo, TX, and 49-year-old Noe Alvaro Garzamarra of Bird Island, all sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the Olivia Hospital.
