Fire damages home on West Main Street in Marshall

MARSHALL (KMHL) – A fire at a house in the 900 block of West Main Street in Marshall did significant damage to the home last night. Fire officials received the call around 9 p.m., Marshall Fire Chief Quentin Brunsvold tells Marshall Radio no one was hurt in the fire, but the home suffered significant damage. There is no determination as to what caused the fire. Brunsvold says the fire is under investigation with the state fire marshal's office.

Peterson has served in Congress since 1991 and is currently the Chairman of the U.S. House Agriculture Committee. Health officials confirm 2nd coronavirus case in Minnesota

ST. PAUL (LEARFIELD) - The Minnesota Department of Health confirmed the second case of COVID-19 coronavirus in the state after testing 31 people over the weekend. Minnesota Department of Health Commissioner Jan Malcom says they are prepared to steps to help curb the potential spread of the virus in Minnesota if necessary. "Things like temporary school closings, postponing large community gatherings, or working with employers to have more of their workforce working from home," said Malcom. Rural Appleton woman shot during struggle with home intruder

APPLETON (LEARFIELD)  --  A rural Appleton woman says she was shot in the arm with her own gun as she struggled with an intruder in her home Monday night. The Swift County Sheriff's Office says 48-year-old Kim Holthaus told officers she had seen a person on her outside security camera and went to grab her pistol. When she turned around, a tall man grabbed the gun and they struggled.  The gun fired, hitting Holthaus in the forearm and the intruder fled the house.
