WASHINGTON, D.C. (KMHL) – Seventh District Minnesota Congressman Collin Peterson has made it official. He will run for re-election in 2020.

Peterson has served in Congress since 1991 and is currently the Chairman of the U.S. House Agriculture Committee.

During his time in Washington Peterson has guided the last three farm bills and has shaped food, agriculture, energy and the rural economies throughout the United States.

He will face a difficult challenge from former Minnesota Lt. Gov. Michelle Fischbach.
