ST. PAUL (LEARFIELD) – The Minnesota Department of Health confirmed the second case of COVID-19 coronavirus in the state after testing 31 people over the weekend.

Minnesota Department of Health Commissioner Jan Malcom says they are prepared to steps to help curb the potential spread of the virus in Minnesota if necessary.

“Things like temporary school closings, postponing large community gatherings, or working with employers to have more of their workforce working from home,” said Malcom.

The patient is a Carver County resident in their 50s who was likely exposed to the virus while in Europe in late February. They currently are at home.
