Walz asks MPCA for new stricter emissions regulations for vehicles
ST. PAUL (LEARFIELD) - Minnesota is joining California and 20 other states in challenging the Trump administration, which wants to prohibit states from having their own standards for low- and zero-emission vehicles. Governor Tim Walz today asked the state Pollution Control Agency to set new regulations requiring manufacturers reduce emissions in total, across all types of vehicles they sell in Minnesota. Minneapolis woman charged for sex trafficking her own daughter near Granite Falls
GRANITE FALLS (KMHL) – A Minneapolis woman was charged last week for allegedly sex trafficking her daughter near Granite Falls. Authorities say an officer saw an online ad offering sex with two women for $1,000. An officer then set up a meeting, and arrested Tina Renee Watley Oats, age 36, of Minneapolis. Oats is facing charges of promoting prostitution involving a person under 18, engaging in sexual trafficking of a person younger than 18, and inducing a person under 18 to practice prostitution. Her next court appearance is set for October 28.
Level 3 offender moving in to Marshall
MARSHALL (KMHL) – There will be a Level 3 registered predatory offender released in Marshall. According to a press release from the Marshall Police Department, Daniel Martinez is being released from custody. Authorities say Martinez will be residing on the 600 block of West Main Street in Marshall. A fact sheet for Martinez's release says he was required to register as a predatory offender for an offense of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. Memorial service held today for swimmer found near Redwood Falls
REDWOOD FALLS (KMHL) – A memorial service for the missing swimmer found in the Redwood River in Redwood Falls over the weekend will be held today at the Redwood Valley High School. The memorial service for Thunder Brothersofall of Redwood Falls, will be held this afternoon at 1 p.m. at the high school. Brothersofall was swimming with some friends in the Redwood River on Sunday September 15th when he went missing in the current.
