RUTHTON (KMHL) – A Washington man was hurt when a semi-trailer collided with with a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train south of Ruthton Wednesday.

The Pipestone County Sheriff’s office says the crash occurred yesterday shortly after 4 p.m near the intersection of Highway 23 and 201st street in rural Pipestone County. Authorities say the Peterbuilt semi was pulling a base section of a wind tower.

The train sustained moderate damage, while the truck and trailer sustained severe damage.

According to the sheriff’s officials, the driver, Travis Claypoole, of Vancouver, Washington, was taken to the Pipestone County Medical Center for injuries that were sustained in the crash.
