REDWOOD FALLS (KMHL) – A large tornado touched down near Redwood Falls Thursday evening as severe weather ripped through the region.
There have been a few scattered reports of damage in the Redwood Falls area. The storms started moving through the area around 4 p.m. There has been no official word from the weather service on how large the tornado was to this point.
The severe weather began in Yellow Medicine County with reports of golf ball-sized hail near Hazel Run. Quarter-sized and half-dollar sized hail was reported near Echo.

As the storms moved east, the threat changed to tornadoes. There was a report of a funnel cloud in the Belview area shortly after 5. Things got more serious shortly there after as reports of tornado touchdowns started coming in shortly there after.
The storms left a fair amount of damage in portions of Redwood County.
