WALNUT GROVE — On Tuesday, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, along with several other agencies conducted search warrants in rural Redwood County, which uncovered multiple stolen items, controlled substances, and a firearm. A 42-year-old rural Walnut Grove man and a 50-year-old rural Walnut Grove woman were arrested. They currently face charges of 5th degree possession of a controlled substance and illegal possession of a firearm. Reports will be sent to county attorneys for consideration of additional charges including burglary, theft, and possession of stolen property. The investigation is ongoing. The suspects are currently being held at the Redwood County Jail.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sheriff’s Offices from Redwood, Murray, and Pipestone Counties, Police Departments from Morgan, Westbrook, and Sleepy Eye, as well as the Buffalo Ridge and Brown, Lyon, Redwood, and Renville Drug Task Force.
