UNDATED (LEARFIELD) - More than a dozen commercial turkey facilities in Minnesota reported cases of high-path avian flu during September. Minnesota Turkey Growers Association executive director Ashley Kohls says this year’s outbreak is somewhat similar to 2015. MnDOT: Highway 68 detour near Porter removed, the rest remains

PORTER (KMHL) – The Highway 68 detour between Porter and Taunton was removed yesterday, however, the detour from Marshall to Minneota remains in place. The Minnesota Department of Transportation says drainage repairs near Porter were part of the project – that portion of the work has been completed, however the culvert replacements and shoulder widening along 11 miles Highway 68 from North Grant Street in Minneota to the Redwood River in Marshall continue. MnDOT still has not said when that work will be completed.

Nurses association reacts to increase in hospital adverse events

UNDATED (LEARFIELD) - The Minnesota Nurses Association (MNA) is reacting to this week's report from the state Health Department showing that adverse events and instances of patient harm rose significantly last year. MNA President Mary Turner says the report is troubling, but not surprising. "This report in one sense is like total justification for what we've been talking about for over two decades in the nursing profession here in Minnesota," said Turner. Motorcyclist injured in crash with pickup in Marshall

MARSHALL (KMHL) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash with with a pickup truck Thursday afternoon in Marshall. Marshall Police say a 21-year-old Sioux Falls man was airlifted to Sioux Falls after the accident that occurred at the intersection of Highway 19 and Channel Parkway in Marshall. There is not more information on the motorcyclist’s condition – the pickup driver was not injured in the crash.
