The next monthly veterans coffee at the Lyon County Museum, 301 W Lyon St, Marshall is Tuesday, June 4 at 1:30 pm.  The monthly coffee is open to all veterans.  Enjoy coffee, water, juice, and treats while visiting with fellow veterans in the ice cream shop at the museum.  For more information, contact the museum at 507-537-6580 or director@lyoncomuseum.org

This summer Kids Eat Free with the Marshall Public School's Summer Food Service Program. Any child age 18 and under qualifies for meals at no cost. Meals include breakfast, lunch, & must be eaten onsite. June 5th - 28th the program is available at Marshall Middle School Mon. - Fri. Breakfast served 8 am - 8:30 am, Lunch served 12 - 12:30 pm. Thursday, June 6th have some Bingo Night fun with Sounds of Summer at the Red Baron Arena & Expo. It'll be a night filled with fun and amazing prizes, doors open at 5 pm, bingo action starts at 6. Hitching Post will be on site with pulled pork sandwiches and a cash bar available for additional purchase starting at 5 pm.   This event is hosted by Sounds of Summer & The American Legion.

From 6 - 6:30 pm, Thursday, June 6th at the Lyon County Museum attendees may tour the newly dedicated Joseph A. Amato Research Center on the main floor of the Lyon County Museum. At 6:30 pm in the conference room on the 2nd floor, Joseph Amato will give the talk, "How Southwest Minnesota Became Home. Forty Years of Living in and Studying a Place". The talk will be based on his forthcoming autobiography, Spring of Springs, one of recent treatments of self, as he will explain. The University of Minnesota Extension Lyon County Master Gardener Volunteer Program will be having their Plant Sale June 7th, 9 am - 2 pm, at the Marshall Area YMCA.  They'll be selling perennials, annuals, houseplants, vegetables, succulents, tomatoes, & seeds. Credit cards, cash, & checks accepted.
