Breakfast Fundraiser and Silent Auction
Lake Benton Community & Event Center 114 Center St S, Lake Benton, MN, United StatesThe Lions Club is having a Breakfast Fundraiser and Silent Auction on September 24th. They will be serving breakfast from 9:00 AM -12:30 PM at the Lake Benton Community and Event Center. There will be pancakes, french toast, eggs, sausage, toast, coffee, and milk. Net breakfast proceeds will go towards Lynn Meyer’s medical expenses. Lynn was recently diagnosed with stage 3 metastatic ovarian cancer and is scheduled to begin chemotherapy on August 10th. St. Anne’s Church – Wabasso, Fall Festival

Carol Dunker Cancer Benefit
The Caboose 1045 Craig Ave, Tracy, MN, United StatesJoin in the fight to support Carol Dunker, a Boxcar Liquor employee, in her battle against stage 4 triple negative breast cancer! September 24th from 11:00 a.m. - 1 p.m. at The Caboose in Tracy will be will be a charity event to help Carol. 2023 Meander Art Crawl
The Land Stewardship Project invites you to the 2023 Meander Art Crawl Sept. 29th 12pm - 6pm, Sept 30th 9am - 6pm, & Oct. 1st 9am - 4pm. The award-winning Meander Art Crawl is a free, self-guided tour of artist studios featuring 40 local artists from Upper Minnesota River Valley. We encourage visitors to visit artists in their own environment who celebrate a lifestyle that represents the small, handmade, personal, and local culture of the area. This event has more than 30 individual studios in and near the western Minnesota communities of Ortonville, Appleton, Madison, Milan, Dawson, Montevideo, and Granite Falls.

Slavery’s Reach – A presentation by Christopher P. Lehman
Marshall Lyon County Library MN, United StatesMonday, October 2nd at 6:30 p.m. join professor Christopher P. Lehman at the Marshall-Lyon County library for his presentation: Slavery's Reach, Southern Slaveholders In The North Star State. Dr. Lehman is a professor of Ethnic studies at St. Cloud State University. He has been a visiting fellow at Harvard University's Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research. His book Slavery's Reach won the Minnesota Book Award for Minnesota Nonfiction in 2020.
