Certified Nursing Assistant Training

The Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council in cooperation with Adult Basic Education and Marshall Area Technical & Educational Center have openings for adults to enroll in Nursing Assistant Training that will lead to a Certification from the MN Department of Nursing. The class Introduces concepts of basic human needs, health/illness and basic nursing skills. Introduction to home care. Including care of child, reporting procedures, caring for special populations, homemaking skills and hospice care in a nursing home. Menu: Ham, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Candied Carrots, Stuffing, a bun and beverage. Jewel was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May 2021. It has been a crazy whirlwind of events that one can never be prepared for. She is currently in chemotherapy with more procedures to come. Her faith is strong. Jewel and her family would like to thank everyone for continued thoughts and prayers. The power of prayer is everything!

Pillow Cleaning at the Wooden Nickel

The Marshall American Legion Auxiliary Unit 113 will be having a Pillowing Cleaning on Wednesday, Oct 27th from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Wooden Nickel in Marshall. The proceeds benefit our Veteran’s programs. Used pillows will be cleaned, sanitized, and deodorized. The process takes only a few minutes. New pillows and comforters are also available. Halloween Family Fun Day at the Museum

Halloween Family Fun Day at the Museum is Saturday, October 30 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Lyon County Museum, 301 W Lyon St, Marshall.  Free event.  All kids dressed in costume will receive a treat bag. Activities include: Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt, Make & Take Crafts, Make & Take Coloring Activities, and $1.00 Orange or Root Beer Floats in the museum’s ice cream shop.  For more information: 507-537-6580
