2023 Meander Art Crawl
The Land Stewardship Project invites you to the 2023 Meander Art Crawl Sept. 29th 12pm - 6pm, Sept 30th 9am - 6pm, & Oct. 1st 9am - 4pm. The award-winning Meander Art Crawl is a free, self-guided tour of artist studios featuring 40 local artists from Upper Minnesota River Valley. We encourage visitors to visit artists in their own environment who celebrate a lifestyle that represents the small, handmade, personal, and local culture of the area. This event has more than 30 individual studios in and near the western Minnesota communities of Ortonville, Appleton, Madison, Milan, Dawson, Montevideo, and Granite Falls.
6th Annual Marshall Gun Show
Join us for the 6th Annual Marshall gun show Saturday September 30th 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday October 1st 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. at the Red Baron Arena and Expo in Marshall. Admission is 5$, children 12 and under enter for free, and all children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Slavery’s Reach – A presentation by Christopher P. Lehman
Monday, October 2nd at 6:30 p.m. join professor Christopher P. Lehman at the Marshall-Lyon County library for his presentation: Slavery's Reach, Southern Slaveholders In The North Star State. Dr. Lehman is a professor of Ethnic studies at St. Cloud State University. He has been a visiting fellow at Harvard University's Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research. His book Slavery's Reach won the Minnesota Book Award for Minnesota Nonfiction in 2020.

Marshall Lyon-County Library's Reader's café live welcomes contemporary mystery writer Mary Seifert of Willmar, Minnesota to the Marshall Lyon-County Library on Thursday, October 5th at 6:30 p.m. for an author visit. Seifert is the Author of the Katie & Maverick cozy mysteries series. She is a member of the Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, the American Cryptogram Association, Dog Writers of America, and PEO.

Elisha Martius Cancer Benefit
A cancer benefit to help support Elisha Martius will take place October 8th in the gymnasium of Samuel Lutheran School in Marshall. Doors open at 10:30 a.m., with food served from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. There will be walking tacos, a bake sale, a silent auction, & also activities for children. The city of Marshall and the Marshall-Lyon county library want you to experience the night sky of southwest Minnesota! Join professional meteorologist Mike Lynch, Monday, October 9th starting at 7:00 p.m. at Patriot Park. Mike will have giant telescopes aimed at planets, the moon, and distant galaxies. The event is free and open to the public, so bundle yourself up and enjoy the stars! Patriot park is located on Windstar Street between Scott St and Ellis Ave, South of MN 23 and west of US 59. There is a rain date for Wednesday, October 11th if inclement weather occurs.

55+ Defensive Driving Refresher Course
55+ Defensive Driving Refresher Course
Tuesday, October 10th 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Tracy Area High School in room 132 will be the Minnesota Safety Council's Defensive Driving 55+ 4-hour refresher course. If you have taken a state approved, eight-hour defensive driving course in the past, you can renew your 10%, 3-year car insurance discount by taking this state-approved refresher course. There is no driving test and no written test, you will receive a certificate of completion to provide to your insurance company. Cost is 28$ and you must register by October 6th.

The Marshall Adult Community Center is excited to celebrate 35 years of opportunity for the older adult population in Marshall and the surrounding communities. Join us in our celebration Friday, October 13th at the Adult Community Center. Starting at 10:30 a.m. will be musical entertainment from Happy to Be Here! featuring Darwin Dyce and Lee Kanten.
