Body Found in Minnesota River Near Granite Falls 

GRANITE FALLS — The Granite Falls Police Department is investigating a body found in the Minnesota River near Highways 212 and 23. Responding to a 911 call, officers arrived around 11:50 a.m. Investigators currently deem the death non-suspicious with no public danger. The body is undergoing an examination by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office to determine identification and cause of death. Assistance was provided by the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Further updates will follow the preliminary autopsy and ongoing investigation.
