Paul T. Soupir age 62 of Milroy passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls after an extended battle with Cancer. Longtime SMSU volleyball assistant coach Paul Soupir passes away

Longtime, SMSU volleyball assistant coach Paul Soupir passed away over the weekend. According to a post on Soupir’s Caring Bridge page, Soupir passed away around 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon. He had been a volunteer assistant on the SMSU Volleyball staff for 16 seasons. Prior to his time with Southwest Soupir had also been the girls basketball coach and volleyball coach at Tracy-Milroy-Balaton high school. Peterson announces $5.9 million grant for new veterans cemetery in southwest Minnesota
REDWOOD FALLS (LEARFIELD) -- A five-point-nine-million-dollar federal grant is the first step toward a new State Veterans Cemetery in southwest Minnesota. Rep. Collin Peterson (D-Minnesota) helped secure the award and says the proposed cemetery in Redwood County would serve more than 22-thousand veterans, their spouses, and family. Peterson said, "it’s taken over 10 years of relentless advocacy by many people and groups to get to this point." The grant begins a year-long process in design, planning, and supporters hope, a final award. The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs is working with county officials on the property.
