Sandra Ruth (Starken) Rettmer age 79 of Marshall, formerly of Tracy, passed away from complications of pneumonia and lung cancer on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Seasons Hospice House in Redwood Falls. Calvin Barnett, age 77, of Marshall, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall, Minnesota. Hid death came just weeks after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. Memorial Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2020, at the Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Marshall, Minnesota. Currie resident heading on MARL trip to Cambodia
CURRIE (KMHL) – The Minnesota Agricultural and Rural Leadership program is leaving for Cambodia today. Currie resident Krista Kopperud, is in the class and is heading on the trip. She says they’ve been preparing for the trip for months. "I have been looking forward to this trip since last June, even before," said Kopperud. "We found out last June when we were all in Duluth and ever since that we've been preparing individually and as a group to head over there." Rash of car break-ins reported in Lake Benton
IVANHOE (KMHL) – Authorities say there was a rash of vehicle break-ins in Lake Benton Sunday night. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says they have received several reports of vehicles that were broken into or rummaged through Sunday evening. Sheriff’s officials are asking residents that if they noticed their vehicles were tampered with or if they’re missing anything to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at (507) 694-1664.
Church burglaries reported in Wood Lake and Echo
WOOD LAKE (KMHL) – It’s the lowest of the low! Authorities in Yellow Medicine County are looking for information after two churches were broken into last week. Sheriff's officials say one of the break-ins occurred at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wood Lake. Investigators say a Farm-All model tractor in a wood and glass case was taken and two brass candle holders, a backpack and pieces of a silver tea set were taken as well.
