Betty Anderson, age 88 of Hendricks, MN passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the Hendricks Community Hospital Nursing Home. Memorial service will be 11:00am on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Christ Lutheran Church in Hendricks. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Hendricks City Cemetery. Housman Funeral Home-Birk Chapel of Hendricks, MN is entrusted with the arrangements.

Betty Jane Anderson was born on January 17, 1931 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to parents Frank and Sylvia (Jensen) Arnold. She was raised in Albert Lea and graduated from high school there. Betty attended Stephens College in Missouri and later attended Saint Olaf College in Northfield, MN and it was there where her roommate Audrey Hindjborgen brought Betty to her hometown of Hendricks, MN where she met the love of her life, Arthur Conley Anderson.

Betty married Art Anderson on May 3, 1952 in Albert Lea, MN and to this union they were blessed with two children, Chuck and Janice. Together the couple farmed and raised their children on the Anderson family farm in Hansonville Township. They retired in 1989 and moved into Hendricks.

Enjoyments that Betty had were cooking, baking and doing ceramics and Hardanger. Tending to her flower beds, traveling and camping also brought years of enjoyment. Her time spent with her grandchildren was known to be the most enjoyable and memorable to Betty.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Eastern Star and the 20th Century Club.
Grateful for having shared Betty’s life are her children: Chuck (Joyce) Anderson of Moorhead, MN and Janice (Jeff) Moen of Hendricks; six grandchildren: Rebecca (Matt) Kollitz, Moorhead, MN, Christen Anderson, Moorhead, MN, John (fiancé, Jordan Tichenor) Anderson, Omaha, NE, Jackie Moen, Burnsville, MN, Jared (Elisa) Moen, Scottsdale, AZ and Jordan (Becca) Moen of Mankato, MN; nine great-grandchildren: Sylvia, Scarlett, and Madeline Miller, Connor and Cora Moen, Grant, Emma and Charlie Kollitz and Charlotte Moen; and numerous friends.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sylvia Arnold; her husband; Art and her grandson, Jason Moen.
