Test results come back negative on 4th possible Coronavirus case in Minnesota

ST. PAUL (LEARFIELD)  --  Test results from the C-D-C show a fourth possible coronavirus case in Minnesota came back negative. An update on the state Health Department's website says there are now zero pending cases and four negative cases.  Officials say the latest suspected patient recently traveled abroad and had been isolated from others. No cases have been confirmed in Minnesota. Symptoms of coronavirus include fever, cough and shortness of breath and usually appear two to 14 days after exposure to the virus.

City of Marshall ready if spring flooding arrives

MARSHALL (KMHL) – Officials from the National Weather Service and the department of homeland security are warning about flooding concerns around Minnesota this spring. Officials with the city of Marshall say they’re ready though after last year’s record crest of 19.3 feet on the Redwood River at Marshall. Department of Health: Time to prepare for a possible coronavirus outbreak

ST. PAUL (LEARFIELD)  --  The Minnesota Department of Health is encouraging Minnesotans to form a plan in case of a possible coronavirus outbreak. Infectious Disease director  Kris Ehresmann says it's time to have conversations about your medication supply and having a reasonable amount of non-perishable food items. Ehresmann says other things to think about include preparing financially if you can't work and whether you're prepared for school, daycare or retail store closings.  She says there are a lot of unknowns with this virus and no vaccine or anti-viral drugs. Lac Qui Parle Valley closes school for the rest of the week because of an issue

MADISON (KMHL) – The Lac Qui Parle Valley School District is closed for the rest of the week due to what the district is only calling “an issue.” In a post on Facebook, school officials say they and the Lac Qui Parle County Sheriff’s office are working to resolve an issue that has come up. There are no other details available about the situation; however officials say more information will be released in the near future. The school will use a virtual day on Friday.
