City council approves new parking lot for Red Barn Arena

MARSHALL (KMHL) – The Marshall City Council has approved a plan to build more than 100 new parking spots at Red Baron Arena in Marshall. The plan approved by the city council last night will build an additional 106 parking spots in a new lot on the south side of the arena. The city is also planning to re-stripe the current arena lot, which will result in a loss of 27 parking spots – however city officials estimate the project would increase the amount of available parking spots at the arena to between 250-to-260. Duane died on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at his home in Marshall, under the care of Prairie Home Hospice.

Redwood Falls woman dies from two-vehicle crash near Danube

DANUBE (KMHL) – The weekend turned fatal on a county road south of Danube. Sources say a woman who was seriously injured in a car accident Friday afternoon has passed away. The Renville County Sheriff’s Office says Madison Vagle, 22, of Redwood Falls, was riding in a 1996 Subaru Legacy that was struck by a semi-truck driven by a 62-year-old Danube man. Authorities say the semi failed to yield after stopping for the stop sign. The Subaru Legacy then collided with the semi. Ellsworth man dies of accidental drowning in northern Iowa

ROCK VALLEY, IOWA (KMHL) - There are not a lot of details available on a 31-year-old Ellsworth man who drowned in northern Iowa over the weekend. Anthony Boyenga died of an apparent accidental drowning on Saturday. According to a published report, the incident occurred at the River Bend Campground Area near Rock Valley, Iowa. Sheriff's officials have not released details yet. Boyenga had five children. A Go Fund Me Page has been set up for the family.
