An Electric vehicle charging station is coming to Marshall

MARSHALL (KMHL) – Marshall is one of a few communities around the state that will have an electric vehicle charging station built in the community. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency awarded grant funding to ZEF Energy Inc. of Minneapolis to build 22 stations around the state. Weather officials: EF-1 tornado hits Hadley Saturday night

HADLEY (KMHL) – A tornado that touched down in Hadley Saturday night has been rated an EF-1. The National Weather Service tells Marshall Radio the storm cut a 4-mile path through the community. Weather officials say the tornado was roughly 75 yards wide and maximum winds reached 105 MPH. The storm damaged a few garages and machine sheds both inside and outside of town. NORMAN MIKKELSEN, son of Jens and Clara (Pedersen) passed away Sunday, August 18th, 2019, just two days shy of his 89th birthday; August 20, 1930. Norman was surrounded by family and was fortunate to have made his wishes known. Interestingly, Norman was born in the family farm chicken house while the main house was constructed. First case of West Nile Virus confirmed in Minnesota in 2019

UNDATED (LEARFIELD) - The first cases of West Nile virus have been confirmed in Minnesota, about a month later than usual. Mike McLean (muh-KLANE) with Metropolitan Mosquito Control says West Nile cases are most common in southern and western Minnesota. "Primarily from the Twin Cities west to the western part of the state, and then into the Dakotas as well," said McLean. HADLEY (KMHL) – For the second week in a row, weather officials are examining tornado damage in parts of southwest Minnesota over the weekend. Tornado warnings were issued for several southwest Minnesota communities Saturday evening, including the Hadley, Windom, Heron Lake and Lakefield. According to storm reports from the National Weather Service, a tornado touched down in Hadley around 10:57 p.m. Saturday night. Child shot and killed in Heron Lake

HERON LAKE (KMHL) – A child was shot and killed at a home near Heron Lake Wednesday.  The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department says a weapon discharged inside the home and a bullet struck the child in the head. Deputies responded to a 911 call along with officials from the Heron lake Police Department and the Heron Lake Ambulance Wednesday. Few other details about the incident are available, as sheriff's officials say the incident remains under investigation. The child was transported to Windom Area Hospital and pronounced dead.
