HERON LAKE (KMHL) – A child was shot and killed at a home near Heron Lake Wednesday. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department says a weapon discharged inside the home and a bullet struck the child in the head.
Deputies responded to a 911 call along with officials from the Heron lake Police Department and the Heron Lake Ambulance Wednesday. Few other details about the incident are available, as sheriff’s officials say the incident remains under investigation.
The child was transported to Windom Area Hospital and pronounced dead.
