SACRED HEART — The Renville County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on Wednesday morning at approximately 7:37 to a report of a 15-year-old pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Walnut Street and 5th Avenue in Sacred Heart.  

Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered the injured teenager, a resident of Sacred Heart, who had been struck by a vehicle that subsequently fled the scene. The victim was transported to Granite Falls Hospital for treatment and was later discharged. 

Efforts to apprehend the driver were successful, with law enforcement locating both the vehicle and its 16-year-old driver in Granite Falls, MN. The driver, also from Sacred Heart, is cooperating with authorities in the ongoing investigation. 

Multiple agencies assisted in the response effort, including the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Sacred Heart Medical Response Unit, Sacred Heart Fire Department, Granite Falls Ambulance, and the Granite Falls Police Department.
