LEARFIELD (St. Paul, MN) — There will be a temporary transfer of power today at the Capitol when Governor Tim Walz undergoes a colonoscopy. Walz will be under anesthesia for the preventative procedure and will transfer power to Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan. The governor will send legislative leaders a written declaration that he is able to again discharge his duties. Walz says, “preventive care screenings are critical tools to help detect, prevent, and treat disease.” He’s expected back in the office on Tuesday.
