Victor Allen Nielsen was born on May 6, 1952 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was adopted and raised in Ruthton, Minnesota by Ernest and Lillian (Andersen) Nielsen. He attended school in Ruthton through high school. After his schooling he moved to Colorado and lived there for a time with his sister, Deb. He moved around quite a bit through the years and ended up in Madison, South Dakota for a time as well. He met Emily Ratajczak and was united in marriage in Tyler, Minnesota. The years he was with Emily were the happiest years of his life. She brought him so much joy. He and Emily enjoyed many bike trips all over the United States. They especially loved riding to Sturgis together each year. After Emily’s death in 2015, Vic continued to live in their home in Tyler until entering the care of the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone, Minnesota. On Saturday, March 11, 2023 he passed away at the Pipestone County Medical Center in Pipestone at the age of 70.  Victor lived a colorful life that led him in many different directions. He had a silly, quirky sense of humor and loved to joke around. He and Emily went on a lot of rides with ABATE (American Bikers for Awareness, Training, and Education), he was passionate about the charity work they did. After Emily’s death, Victor stopped riding his motorcycle. He did, however, share one special trip with his sister, Deb, which remained a highlight for the two of them. They enjoyed hitting a few special spots in the area (including the Holland Bar) and did a little star gazing as well. One of the only things in life that he loved as much as his motorcycles was watching Nascar races.

Victor is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Victoria (Ben) Nielsen Eckhoff of Oregon; sister, Deb Revier of Tyler, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Abbygail, Katalina, and Autumn; one great-granddaughter, Emberlynn; and one step-daughter, Linda VanDerostyne Sutherland of Lake Benton, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily; daughter, Christina Nielsen; and his parents.
