BROOKLYN PARK, MN – The pilot killed in a plane crash Saturday afternoon in Brooklyn Park is believed to be Terry Dolan, a top U.S. Bancorp executive.
The single-engine SOCATA TBM aircraft crashed into a home on Kyle Avenue around 12:20 p.m., sparking a massive fire. Federal officials stated that the pilot was the sole occupant and only fatality. The aircraft was registered to DGW Enterprises, LLC, which Minnesota records list Dolan as managing.
U.S. Bancorp issued a statement Sunday acknowledging that the plane was registered to Dolan, 63, the company’s vice chair and chief administration officer. “At this time, the medical examiner’s office has not been able to confirm whether he was on board, but we believe he was,” the statement read. The company extended condolences to Dolan’s family and gratitude that no residents were injured.
The plane had departed Des Moines International Airport at 11:12 a.m., bound for Anoka County-Blaine Airport, before crashing into the Brooklyn Park home. Fire Chief Shawn Conway reported that the plane struck the roof from the southeast. The home’s residents were unharmed; the woman was walking her dog, and her husband escaped from the kitchen.
Dolan had been with U.S. Bancorp for years, holding several leadership roles before becoming chief administration officer in 2023.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
