OMRO TOWNSHIP — Two truck drivers were hospitalized Monday after their semis collided in Yellow Medicine County at the intersection of Highway 67 and County Road 11, the Minnesota State Patrol reported. 

The crash happened at 11:35 a.m. when a northbound 2023 Freightliner on County Road 11 and an eastbound 2015 Peterbilt on Highway 67 entered the intersection and collided. Road conditions were dry at the time. 

The Freightliner’s driver, 34-year-old Steven J. Iwiringi of Tooele, Utah, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Dawson ER. The Peterbilt driver, 25-year-old Cody Leroy Johnson of Granite Falls, was also transported to Dawson ER with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Assistance was provided by the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office, Canby Fire and Ambulance, Clarkfield Fire and Ambulance, and Dawson Ambulance.
