MARSHALL — Farmward Cooperative and Ag Plus Cooperative have announced plans to unify, following approval from both boards of directors.
The two organizations completed a joint study evaluating strategic alignment, long-term value, and operational strengths. Board members concluded that combining the cooperatives would better position them for future growth, expanded services, and improved stability for members.
Under the proposal, the unified cooperative would operate as Farmward Cooperative and serve farmer-members across several counties in central Minnesota. Leaders from both organizations said the effort is intended to build on existing strengths rather than change day-to-day operations, with a focus on expanding product offerings, improving efficiency, and staying competitive in a changing agricultural market.
The cooperatives are now moving into the member-vote phase. Additional information, including producer roundtable dates, voting details, and background materials, will be released when finalized. Updates will be posted at farmward.net and agpluscoop.com.
