MILROY – A suspect is in custody after a brief standoff in Milroy on Thursday, according to the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office. At approximately 11:21 Thursday morning, the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office was requested to assist the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office with a threats of violence investigation. The suspect was known to be in a residence in the 200 block of Lorrain Street in Milroy.
Law enforcement attempted to apprehend the suspect, however the suspect refused to exit the residence. Law enforcement set up a perimeter around the residence. After a short time, the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody and turned over to the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred near the Milroy Public School and a brief lock down was put into effect.
