Mass of Christian Burial for Shirley Rogge, 94, of Marshall, will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. A walk through visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall and Thursday from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the remembrance center. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall. Masks are required at all indoor events and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
Shirley Jeanette (Langan) Rogge was born on March 23, 1927, in Minneota, to Ed and Margaret (Blake) Langan. She grew up in Marshall and graduated from Marshall High School. On January 22, 1952, she was united in marriage to Robert Rogge at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. In addition to raising their eight children, the couple owned and operated “Bob Rogge Sewing and Vacuum Center” for 35 years. In their younger years, the couple enjoyed dancing. They also looked forward to the occasional Sunday drive. Shirley enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. For the last several years she has been living at Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall.
Shirley died on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
She is survived by her sons Cary Rogge of Temple City, CA, Kim Rogge of Honolulu, HI, and Jay (Barbara) Rogge of Hanley Falls, MN, daughters Cathy (and Steve) Malherek of Marshall and Lisa (and Joel) Kretsch of Redwood Falls, 17 grandchildren and brother Ed Langan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, parents, sisters Lucille and Katherine and sons Kevin, Dean and Troy.
