LYND – A rural Russell man has died following a rollover incident on Sunday, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. At approximately 4:29 Sunday evening, law enforcement personnel were dispatched near the intersection of 220th Ave and County Road 20, after a passerby observed a crashed vehicle and an unresponsive male victim within the vehicle. Upon arrival, lifesaving efforts were attempted by first responders, however the man died at the scene.
The victim was identified as 68-year-old Steven Gene Thooft of rural Russell.
The crash remains under investigation.
