Rae Ann Flesner, age 89, of Glenwood, Minnesota (formerly of Milroy, Minnesota), passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Glenwood Retirement Village. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Milroy, Minnesota. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at Milroy Community Cemetery following the service.
Rae Ann (Penke) Flesner was born on July 6, 1937 to Clarence (Boob) and Lucille (Beaton) Penke. She lived in Milroy Mn almost her whole entire life. Rae Ann graduated as the class salutatorian in 1955.
Rae Ann married Kenneth Flesner on September 18, 1955. They welcomed 4 children- Keni, Kyle, Kari and Kray. Rae Ann was a stay-at-home mom.
Rae Ann was proud to be a member of the Milroy community. She was active in many different volunteer activities. She was very active with Our Saviors Lutheran Church and the District Synod. She also organized the local blood drive for the American Red Cross for many years. She donated over 165 units throughout those years. She also volunteered countless hours at Milroy Public Schools. She enjoyed spending time, volunteering or attending events at Lake Shetek Bible Camp. Kenny and her coordinated a recycling program in Milroy. She also ran the Community Newsletter for many years. She was on the committee that organized the All-School reunions to name a few things. She was the recipient of the Robert Zwach, SR Community Service Award for her volunteer activities.
Throughout the years Ken and Rae Ann were able to take several road or bus trips. They took several trips to Arkansas to visit Kray and his family. They took a bus trip to Cooperstown, NY to go to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Rae Ann is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Keni, son Kray: brothers Barrie and Randy and other family members.
Rae Ann is survived by her husband of 71 years Kenny; son Kyle (Lynn); daughter Kari; daughter-in-law Theresa Flesner and son-in-law Ken Hylbak. Grandchildren: Kayla (Dave) Sanstead; Keason Flesner; Lauren McMahon; Kristen, Kaven and Kruz Flesner. Great grandchildren: Damon, Owen and Piper Sanstead and Konnor McMahon.
