Marjorie Gertrude (Kraft) Seitz was born March 25, 1920, in Hersey Township near Brewster, Minnesota, to John and Fronnie (Bisch) Kraft. She grew up on the farm one of seven children and was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster. After graduating from Brewster High School, Marj attended Worthington Junior College for one year and then went on to graduate from Hamline Asbury School of Nursing. On October 17, 1941, she married George Wilson Seitz in Salina, Kansas, where they lived for three years. In 1945, they purchased the Drug Store in Cottonwood, Minnesota, and enjoyed working together in the business. While managing the Drug Store, Marj also worked as a Private Duty nurse and enjoyed working in Public Health. To this union was born one daughter.

Their life was centered around operation of the drug store and raising their daughter, while they also enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and playing cards. Marj especially enjoyed her 4 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and recently born great great grandchild, always encouraging them all to higher goals. She was free with giving her love and advice and especially enjoyed cooking for her family and making sure they ate well. Marj was private about her faith in God but chose to live it out in love and generosity. One seldom left her house without food, something she made by hand, or an article or book to read. She enjoyed friends as a member of the Cottonwood Senior Citizens Center, many Bridge and card clubs, Bible Study Groups, and Christ Lutheran Church. She was an inspiration to many with her positive attitude and great appreciation for life.

Marj passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in her residence of 75 years at the age of 100 years, 6 months, and 8 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Harry and wife Ada, Harold, Allan and wife Vannie, her sisters Helen and husband Bert Voorhees, Adeline and husband Jack Seitz, and brother-in-law Warren Quarnstrom. She is survived by her daughter Georgine (Larry) Caron, grandchildren Jeffrey (Lisa) Caron, Angela (Troy) Schumacher, Kelly (Matthew) Imes, John (Desiree) Caron, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and her sister Ardella Quarnstrom.
