Mankato mother of son who died pushes for grain bin safety

MANKATO (LEARFIELD) — A mother whose son died will be pushing for grain bin safety.

Landon Gran was cleaning out a grain bin last year when his legs got stuck in a sweep auger and he bled to death. Landon’s is one of at least eight grain bin-related deaths in Minnesota since June.

Lawmakers and state officials plan to tackle farm safety measures during the Minnesota Legislature’s 2020 session.
