The funeral service for Larry Bruns, 74, of Garvin, will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the First Congregational Church in Garvin.  Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Tracy and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Garvin.  Interment with military honors will follow the service at the Bethel Cemetery in Garvin.

Larry James Bruns was born on February 12, 1947, in Tyler, MN, to John and Mildred (Kathman) Bruns.  He grew up in the Garvin area.  On October 25, 1969, he was united in marriage to Linda Fogelson in Currie.  The couple made their home and raised their kids in Garvin.  Larry worked as a bridge builder, auto mechanic and small engine mechanic.  He was also a volunteer and former chief of the Garvin Fire Department.  He loved his yardwork and mowers.  He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed visiting with his friends and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.  

Larry died on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, under the care of hospice at his residence in Garvin.  He is survived by his wife, Linda, of Garvin, son Pat Bruns (fiancé Cindy) of Garvin, grandchildren Kristy, Hunter, Issaic, Zach and Bo; son Brian Bruns (and Tina Zeug) of Garvin, grandchildren Jordan Seaton and Joshua Seaton; daughter Staci (and Bryon) Anderson of Garvin, grandchildren Shelby VanMeveren, Sean VanMeveren and Sara VanMeveren; daughter Kristin (and Temple) Herring of Baytown, TX, grandchildren Temple, Kaleb and Kenley; three great-grandchildren, sister Donna Deblieck of Boise, ID, sister-in-law Deb Bruns of Garvin, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Gary and Ron.
