Kelly Jo Mead was born in Hendricks, Minnesota on December 9, 1972, to Larry and Loretta (Nelson) Mead. She grew up in Dawson, Minnesota and graduated from Dawson-Boyd High School with the class of 1991. Throughout her time in school, Kelly made incredible memories alongside her life-long friends. Following high school, she continued her education at Alexandria Tech and Canby Tech. In 1997, Kelly was united in marriage to Jerry Rademacher and to this union, two sons were born: Mason in 1996 and Alex in 1999. Kelly, Jerry, and the boys made their home in Sauk Rapids where she worked for the City of St. Cloud and, years later, as Office Manager of Atlas Staffing. In July of 2007, Kelly married Tim Severson and the couple welcomed a son, Jadyn, in 2007. Kelly and Tim continued to live and raise their family in Sauk Rapids. In 2019, Kelly’s love for the warm weather and tropical temperatures – and combined hatred for the cold – brought her to Platka, Florida with her special friend, Rick Kliensmith. Kelly worked in the service industry and quickly developed friends that felt like family there. She loved meeting new people and loved spending her time in the sun. In July of 2022, a new career opportunity took Kelly and Rick to Portland, Oregon where she was excelling as an Agent for Northwest Staffing Resources and Legal Services in Northwest Portland. Kelly always lived life to the fullest and absolutely loved life! She loved her boys with all of her heart and did everything in her power to show how immense her love was. In her free time, Kelly enjoyed completing word searches, playing Candy Crush, and spending time with her family and friends.
On September 30, 2022, Kelly was involved in a tragic traffic accident that immediately took her life. As extremely difficult as this is, the family takes comfort in knowing she did not suffer. Kelly was met in Heaven by her son, Alex, whom she always had a special bond with. Kelly will be missed incredibly missed by her family and friends. We take comfort in the memories we made with her and the deep deep love she had for everyone. Blessed be her memory.
