Certified Nursing Assistant Training
The Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council in cooperation with Adult Basic Education and Marshall Area Technical & Educational Center have openings for adults to enroll in Nursing Assistant Training that will lead to a Certification from the MN Department of Nursing. The class Introduces concepts of basic human needs, health/illness and basic nursing skills. Introduction to home care. Including care of child, reporting procedures, caring for special populations, homemaking skills and hospice care in a nursing home. Pillow Cleaning at the Wooden Nickel
Wooden NickelThe Marshall American Legion Auxiliary Unit 113 will be having a Pillowing Cleaning on Wednesday, Oct 27th from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Wooden Nickel in Marshall. The proceeds benefit our Veteran’s programs. Used pillows will be cleaned, sanitized, and deodorized. The process takes only a few minutes. New pillows and comforters are also available. Halloween Family Fun Day at the Museum
Halloween Family Fun Day at the Museum is Saturday, October 30 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Lyon County Museum, 301 W Lyon St, Marshall. Free event. All kids dressed in costume will receive a treat bag. Activities include: Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt, Make & Take Crafts, Make & Take Coloring Activities, and $1.00 Orange or Root Beer Floats in the museum’s ice cream shop. Logger Bar Bingo
Weekly Bar Bingo at Walnut Grove American Legion will repeat on a weekly basis starting on November 6th. The Walnut Grove Area Loggers are sponsoring the weekly Saturday Night Bingo. Starting @ 6:30 pm every Saturday, from Nov. 6th, 2021 thru Dec. 18th, 2021 you can come down to the Walnut Grove American Legion for Bar Bingo with friends.

Join Kat Thomsen, RDN, for the holiday edition of Take a Bite Out of Cancer where we will talk about how to savor the season using a balanced approach. During this virtual cooking demonstration we will prepare three warm and inviting seasonal treats.
