The Southwest Minnesota State University Music Program will host “Brass-a-Palooza” on Saturday, Feb. 1 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on the campus of SMSU. The event is a celebration of brass music and learning and is open to all area brass players, regardless of age, experience or ability. Marlene Jezierski, sister of the late SMSU alumnus and disability advocate Michael Bjerkesett, will read from her book about his life on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at noon in the William Whipple Gallery, located in the McFarland Library at SMSU. The 36th annual Farm Outlook & Education Seminar will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 12 from 9 a.m.-2:45 p.m. in the Conference Center Ballroom on the campus of Southwest Minnesota State University. The Farm Outlook & Education Seminar is a scholarship fundraiser for students in SMSU’s agriculture programs. Three speakers with broad agriculture backgrounds will highlight the event.
