A trio of SMSU Planetarium shows marking the 50th anniversary of the first Apollo landing on the moon are planned for Thursday, July 18. “The Eagle Has Landed: Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11” will be shown at 5, 7 and 9 p.m. on July 18 in the Planetarium, located in SM 178 on the SMSU campus. Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door. July 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the first Apollo landing on the moon. The Brookings Dance Club (formerly known as the Brookings Singles Club) will be sponsoring a dance on July 27 at the McKnight Community Hall in White SD.  The dance music will be provided by the Norgaard Country Duo from 8pm until 12 midnight.  The theme for this dance is Hot Hawaiian Nights.  The admission is $10 per person and there will be Door Prizes and Snacks to share.  Bring a friend and Please join us for an evening of great dancing! 

A unique theatre experience highlighting housing instability in the region is coming to Marshall on July 28. The zAmya Theatre Project will perform “A Prairie Homeless Companion” on Sunday, July 28 at 7 p.m. in the SMSU Black Box Theatre. The performance is free and open to the public.
