RENVILLE COUNTY, Minn. — Authorities say a small aircraft made a safe emergency landing Saturday afternoon after experiencing engine failure south of Fairfax.

According to the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 call came in around 4:18 p.m. on May 2 reporting that a plane had gone down near the intersection of 610th Avenue and 460th Street in Camp Township, about four miles south of Fairfax.

Officials say the aircraft, a Cessna 182C single-engine plane, was piloted by 25-year-old Cole Kramer of Seneca, Kansas. Kramer was flying from Brainerd to Kansas when the engine lost power.

Kramer was able to land the plane safely in a field, and authorities report the aircraft was not damaged. Three passengers were on board: 21-year-old Will Heinen of Seneca, Kansas, along with two juvenile males, ages 17 and 16.

No injuries were reported.

The Renville County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Fairfax Police Department. The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office and the National Transportation Safety Board.
